Description
Priory Sports and Technology College is a duel specialism college found in the South Ribble area of Preston.
The college has a mixed intake of just fewer than 1000 students between the ages of 11-16. Due to the other schools in the area, two single sex schools, it has a 2:1 ratio of boys to girls.
Priory Sports and Technology College became a specialist school during 2000 in respect to the excellence the school showed in technology and science.
The school was then invited to apply for a second specialist status, becoming a sports college during 2004.

Description
Ribblesdale school has a curriculum with a flexible key stage model.
In many subjects KS4 programmes start at the end of Y8 with learners following a flexible learning programme. Using an increased rate of progress allows learners to ‘pool’ time in Y11 where advanced level courses are offered. In Y10 an applied learning programme leads into a loosely coupled Y11 with a college link course and work related learning placement at its core (30 students in Y11 2007-8).
For 2008-9 a contextualised learning day each week is being planned for Y7 structured using half year cohorts, likely to include history, geography, religious education, art and English/drama.
